أسس المركز فى غضون عام 1999 كشركة محاماة خاضعة لقانون المحاماة المصري، ويمارس المركز نشاطه من خلال فرعى القاهرة وأسوان. رسالتنا التصدي لانتهاكات حقوق الإنسان فى بلادنا، وتقديم كافة أشكال العون الممكنة لضحايا هذه الانتهاكات، وتفعيل الآليات القضائية وجهود العمل المشترك بيمصرن مؤسسات المجتمع المدني من أجل إسقاط القوانين المجافية لمبادئ الدستور وحقوق الإنسان، وملاحقة ومعاقبة مرتكبي انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان وتوفير مقتضيات العدالة لإنصاف ضحايا هذه الانتهاكات. |

At the time of writing of this statement
Sarah and Omneyaa await to appeal their detention accompanied by human rights lawyers and Kafr El Sheikh lawyers.
Several of those detained yesterday have been released. Thirteen remain in detention: Mohamed Awad, shams El Fakhakhry, Nour El Din Mohamadi, Karim Selim, Ahmed El Gheity, Medhat shaker, Mohamed el Sebai, ahmed Attalah El Nadim, Amr Abu el Ainin, Doaa Mohamed Ramadan, Mahmoud Ahmed Rizk (Sarah's brother), Salem Awad and Mohamed Hamasa. They should present to court today.
Arbitrary arrests involved four women: Aliaa Mohamed, Sarah Ramadan, Nesma Mohamed and lawyer Jihan Mohamed, all of whom have been released.
Nesma who works as a secretary in the court house had not participated in any of the protests but was randomly and violently arrested, which resulted in the loss of her pregnancy. A complaint is being filed in her name accusing police forces of causing her abortion.
We have also received information regarding arrests of 6th of April activists in Fayoum and Port Said. More details are being sought.
