• Ministry of Interior denied lawyers their right to access George Isaac and to enter
the Prosecutor's office.
• The lawyers affiliated to the front Defending Egyptian Demonstrators stated that the Cairo-based State Security Prosecution Office was cordoned off, and that they were denied their right to access George Isaac and to be allowed entering the prosecutor office to attend investigations. Due to the hurdles and obstructions the police imposed, the Front decided to send more lawyers as it is expected that Isaac will be investigated soon.
Raiding Home of Kefaya Activist in Gharbia
At 9.00 a police force raided the home of Ali Fathi al Hinawi, a Kefaya activist and member to Al Karama party. The police personnel not only searched his home, located in Basion, Gharbia, but also damaged his furniture and arrested him. His whereabouts is still unknown to his family.
• Police Allow Counsels Entering Prosecution
• After denying their right to access the High State Security Prosecution Office to defend Isaac, the police finally allowed the following lawyers to attend: Salah Sadeq, Mohsen Basheir, Esam al Aslamboli, Amir Salem, Taher Abu al Nasr, Tareq Khater, Ahmed Ragheb, Ali Soleiman, Wafaa al Masri, and Ragia Wagih.
Jailing George Isaac until Today Afternoon
The State Security Prosecutor ended interrogating the Egyptian political activist George Isaac at 3.30 a.m. Isaac, who was asked 30 questions, denied all charges leveled against him as well as the actual possessions the police took from his home, except for his mobile. Finally, the prosecutor decided to adjourn the session until today afternoon and ordered detaining him.
The Charges against George Isaac
The leading Kefaya member George Isaac was charged with plotting popular assembly in complicity with others with the purpose of assaulting people, public properties as well as using force and violence with the purpose of influencing public authority. So, according to the aforementioned charge, the Public Prosecution Office accused Isaac of the following charges:
The premeditated subversion of buildings and public properties with the purpose of enforcing chaos and resisting authorities, disrupting and jeopardizing the safety of public traffic, setting fire to residential buildings and shops, looting, and assaulting others.

Tear Gas against Demonstrators
Cairo, April 4, 2008—at about 4.00 p.m. about 5000 workers and residents of El Mahala neighborhood converged together in Shon square and went on a demonstration. The protestors condemned the high prices that swept nationwide. Just half an hour later, the security forces succeeded in dispersing the protestors using tear gases and sticks.
